| Hi, this is Pastor Murray of Spirit-Filled Ministries. I would like to talk to you on the most important decision you can ever make in you life. And this is that decision and question. What must I do to be saved? All of us have asked this question over and over in our minds. We have thought about how bad we have or have not been in our lives up to this point, and we question whether or not we are even good enough to be saved. Are we important enough to God for him to save us? Now, I am going to give you the answers to these questions and hope that you will come to know the Lord Jesus as I have. Acts 16: 30 and 31 says this about the question what must I do to be saved? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved and thy house. That's how simple salvation really is. It is not a lot of rituals you must do. It's not about signing your name on the church register. It's not about how much work you can do in the church. It's not about anything you can do, but it's all about what Jesus Christ did for you and me on the Cross at Calvary. You see, he paid it all for us and now all we must do is believe on him and what was accomplished there on the Cross. Now, I must tell you that you are not the only one who has asked this question, what must I do to be saved? John chapter 3 verse 1, a man named Nicodemus asked Jesus the same question, and the answer Jesus gave him was that, "You must be born again". But let me go a little further. Romans 3:23 tells us that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. This means that at one time in all our lives we were all sinners. We were actually born into sin. So we all must, no matter how big or little we may think our sins are, come to Jesus and ask him to forgive us of our sins. And he will. Salvation is simply to believe on Jesus Christ, which means to have faith in him. Have faith in what Jesus did on the Cross for you and me, so that we can come boldly to him and ask for salvation. Now, I want to show you in the word of God that it is not by your good works that you can get saved. It's nothing you can do or purchase, because the price has already been paid for your salvation. Ephesians 2:8 says, for by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Romans 10:13 says that, for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:9 says this, That if thou confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. There is no other way that you can clean up you own act. There is no way that you can get fit yourself to be saved. All you must do is come to Jesus right now. There is no better time. All you must do is pray the sinner's prayer, which is simply this: Dear God in Heaven, I come to you today as a lost sinner. I am asking you that you save my soul and cleanse me from all sin. I realize in my heart my need for salvation, which can only come through Jesus Christ. I am accepting Christ Jesus into my heart and what he did on the Cross in order to purchase my redemption. So in obedience to your holy word, I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in my heart that God has raised him from the dead. And from this day forth, I will begin a new life with you. I will walk in the new way, and I will turn from the life I have been living. If you have prayed this prayer and you believe in your heart that he has saved you, then praise God, you have been saved. Now you must get into a church with other believers, a bible based, bible preaching church and begin to grow in the Lord. May God bless you! |
